About brewery tours

The main house has a history spanning more than 190 years. On both sides of the building are “Udatsu” (raised walls for preventing the spread of fire).

The store is also designated by Gifu Prefecture as a “Street Corner Art Museum/Museum.” The various items on display also include artifacts unrelated to sake-making.

There are old account books dating from the 1830s through to the 1920s. Bamboo indexes exude a sense of history.

Exhibits also include old-time retro labels and English textbooks from the 1860s.

The ceiling’s pinewood beams are quite thick.

Pass through the courtyard …

to the brewery.

Here you will find rows of tanks.
Between October and April—the sake-making season—you can smell the sweet, fruity aroma of the sake mash as it ferments.

Through the factory …

to the kiosk on National Route 41.

Here you can enjoy tasting Sake, Shochu (distilled spirits), and vodka.
There is also non-alcoholic Amazake for children and those who are driving to taste.
National Route 41 Kiosk
Our roadside kiosk is located in front of the Genky drugstore on National Route 41. In addition to Okuhida Shuzo’s Japanese sake, shochu, and vodka, the kiosk sells snacks, sweets, and souvenirs recommended by the proprietress. Sake tasting is available free of charge (as long as you are not driving).
