Our Hatsumidori label derives its name from the meaning “a sake from a mountain village surrounded by greenery and water.” It was named by the Lord of Owari during the Tenpo Era (1830–1844) in the late Edo period, and this sake brand is the oldest of all Okuhida Shuzo’s brands. We recreated this sake out of a desire to return to our origins and preserve the traditional flavors and beauty of the Japanese sake.
